When we give to the Lord and His church we are actually saying, “Lord we trust you. We trust that you know our needs and will supply our needs.” Ephesians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God Himself makes a promise that He says we can test!
Malachi 3:10-11 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
Proverbs 3:9-10 tells us 9Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase 10So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
As your pastors Dawn and I have learned that when we give out of the abundance of our hearts God always responds with blessing so we make it a point to give sacrificially. In other words in a way where we can feel it. But it is an act of joyous worship. Finally Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:7-8:
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
In The King James it says God loves a hilarious giver! I love that! May the Lord richly bless you as you purpose in your heart how you should give to the Lord.
