First Love is the vision of Pastor Pete Cropsey and his wife Dawn. They believe that the Word of God crosses all boundaries and is able to address any and all life issues as they may present themselves in our modern culture. Pastor Pete teaches the Bible expositionally, verse by verse line by line, one book at a time.
We believe it is only in a real relationship with Jesus in which he plays the role of Savior, Redeemer and Lord and in which we acknowledge that we are broken sinners in need of saving that the chasm separating us from God can be closed and fellowship can take place.
First Love is a hospital for sinners not a museum for saints. It is a haven of refuge for the dispirited and broken, not a showcase for the well-heeled religious. First Love is a place where no matter how you arrive God is there to change you into the person He has created you to be. We don’t tell our God how big our problems are, we tell our problems how big our God is. First Love is an expression of praise stimulated by our immense gratitude for what God has done in our lives.
Colossians 1:13-14 defines the source of our gratitude;
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
